Mosaic launches leadership training programme for ambitious professionals

Essex-based Mosaic has launched a new Strategic Leadership and Mentoring Programme, drawing on decades of experience across leadership, governance, media and organisational change to help ambitious senior professionals develop the skills they need to succeed in complex, high-pressure environments.

The training programme is led by Mosaic co-founder and Chairman Kevin Bentley, whose career has spanned senior leadership, public service, business and journalism roles.

Kevin led one of the UK’s largest local authorities, Essex County Council, with responsibility for a £2 billion budget and thousands of employees, and has chaired numerous organisations. He has also represented the UK at the Council of Europe, served as National President of Round Table and spent more than 20 years with the BBC, primarily as a radio and television reporter.

Kevin’s varied experience has given him a unique understanding of how leaders develop, make decisions under pressure and communicate effectively with different audiences.

He explained: “Leadership today requires far more than technical knowledge. Leaders are expected to make difficult decisions, manage competing priorities and communicate with confidence, often in situations where the pressure is high and the information available is incomplete.

“Unlike traditional leadership development courses that focus heavily on theory, Mosaic’s Strategic Leadership Mentoring Programme is built around practical learning and real-world scenarios. It is designed for business leaders, directors and senior executives, as well as those working in public service, who want to strengthen their leadership capability and increase their impact.”

The programme brings together a series of focused modules which can be completed individually or as a complete development journey. It addresses the challenges leaders face every day, including confident decision-making, communicating during periods of change, chairing complex meetings, managing uncertainty and building trust with teams and stakeholders.

Particular emphasis is placed on developing clarity under pressure, improving leadership presence and helping individuals communicate with authority when engaging with boards, senior colleagues, customers or wider audiences.

Through structured mentoring sessions and one-to-one coaching, delegates are supported in applying leadership principles directly to their own professional challenges. The approach is designed to be practical, reflective and immediately relevant, enabling leaders to build capability while continuing to operate in demanding roles.

Kevin’s experience across leadership and communication informs the programme’s focus on accountability, governance and delivery. His background in media also brings a valuable perspective on the importance of clear messaging, reputation and maintaining confidence during times of scrutiny.

The programme builds on Mosaic’s almost three decades of experience helping organisations communicate effectively through its training division, Mosaic Media Training, alongside its work delivering PR and digital marketing support as well as crisis communications through Mosaic – The Conscience Marketing Agency.

Karen Ainley, co-founder and CEO of Mosaic, added: “Effective leaders need the confidence to make decisions, the ability to communicate clearly and the awareness of how their actions influence the people and organisations around them. This programme brings those skills together to help leaders become more effective, resilient and impactful.”
