Your training experience depends on the quality of your trainer and your course content. We’re proud to only use the most experienced and engaging trainers. All our trainers are highly skilled in their area. Our media trainers include former BBC radio and TV reporters, newspaper editors or journalists and our marketing and business leadership trainers are hands-on experts in their subjects and political leaders. It’s always best to learn from those that do!

Karen Ainley

Karen is a former BBC radio and TV presenter and reporter. She’s also presented and produced documentaries for the BBC. She started her journalism career in newspapers, specialising as a Health Reporter. She is a co-founder of Mosaic and has been media training our clients for 25 years including blue chip companies, government departments, charities, schools and universities. She has an MSc in Digital Marketing and is the founder of Conscience Marketing – a new model of marketing for organisations that care for people and planet.

Kevin Bentley

Kevin is Chairman and co-founder of Mosaic, which he has helped lead for more than 25 years after a 20-year career as a BBC radio and TV reporter. He has extensive experience of strategic leadership, governance and managing complex organisations, including serving as Leader and Deputy Leader of Essex County Council, overseeing a budget of more than £2 billion. Kevin was also the founding Chairman of Transport East and was National President of Round Table, as well as Chairman of the Round Table Trust charity.

Ruth Collin

Ruth is a former BBC broadcast journalist, producer and researcher. She then moved into media liaison and PR working firstly in the police service and then for a range of private sector clients. She also has significant experience in the development of strategy, governance and policy. Her media training clients include the MOD and the NHS. Ruth is also an experienced virtual facilitator in training, meeting and conference settings.

Helen Barnett

Helen is a former journalist and national news editor with over 15 years’ experience in regional and national media. A Chartered Institute of Marketing graduate, she combines her newsroom expertise with digital marketing insight to help professionals communicate with confidence. At Mosaic, she delivers engaging LinkedIn and media training courses, specialising in storytelling, messaging and on-camera presence.

Abi Brown OBE

Abi Brown OBE is former Leader of Stoke-on-Trent City Council and former Chair of the Local Government Association’s Improvement and Innovation Board. She has extensive experience of political leadership, organisational improvement, financial oversight and leading organisations through periods of challenge and scrutiny. She has also served as a Government Intervention Commissioner, providing first-hand experience of supporting organisations through improvement journeys.

Connor Bulmer

Connor is our in house SEO and digital marketing expert! With a commercial background and experience in scaling businesses, Connor is passionate about website development, analytics and enabling organisations to make the most of their online presence. He’s also a CIM and Google qualified AI marketing specialist.

Louise McKinlay

Louise McKinlay is former Deputy Leader of Essex County Council and former Leader of Brentwood Borough Council, with more than 20 years’ experience of political leadership, organisational transformation and public service delivery. She has led through periods of significant change, including local government reform, partnership working and the development of new approaches to delivering services. Alongside her leadership experience, Louise is a PRINCE2® qualified practitioner, combining practical experience of transformation with recognised project management disciplines.

Corinne Bishop

Media Training Manager

Corinne is the glue that holds Mosaic’s training side of the business together by keeping all training projects on track, as well as providing support to the rest of the team. Corinne has many strings to her bow; she is a qualified Legal Secretary, has formerly worked for Lloyd’s of London as an Insurance Claims Handler and is a qualified Beauty Therapist. After having her children, she retrained as a primary school Teaching Assistant specialising in special needs education and is a Level 2 qualified Forest School practitioner.
